Wesson & Berkeley enjoying fall......

LOL.......don't you love it when two young boys sit so pretty for their photo shoot when they would really rather be jumping into piles of raked leaves!! Wesson (formally known as Gigi/Weylin's boy Sylvester) and his Springer brother Berkeley have been known to run like the wind through their huge back yard in pursuit of whatever it is that little spaniel boys do. Report from Sienna's doctor visit.......

Hi Mary, - Just got back from the doctors and we got an excellent report. We can stop using the sling and just walk her on a leash. The 2 doctors that have taken care of her are so pleased with her progress. Doesn't need daily therapy anymore just lots and lots of love like she's been getting.They want to see her in a month and maybe in 3 months she'll be able to go back to normal active except for stairs & jumping. Thank you everyone for all your prayers that's what I believe is helping our little Sienna. Love to all in the gang, Doris

Philip and I also thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes of support for this amazing little girl and her wonderful family. I've always said cocker people are the best people on Earth. We will continue to post any new photos and updates. Hugs and kisses to Sienna, Livie, Doris and Gary.

Great Grandparents Basil & Iris.........

........the old guard caught in a moment of rest and relaxation after a long day of watching over their mob. Basil will be ten years old in January and Iris thirteen in November. Both are healthy, happy examples of the American Cocker Spaniel. They have produced a wonderful family of cockers with intelligence, personality, hunting instinct, loyalty and just silly fun. Thought it was time to give some blog space to our elders. Puppies are fun to watch, but the elders give us fond memories and confirmation that our puppies can have the same long loving lives.

Happy update on our precious Sienna......little CC.

"CC's been home now for 2 wks and is doing real good. She has gotten so strong that she can pull me on the leash now. Doesn't like being fenced in and not able to play and chase Livie. She goes back Tuesday for her re-check and we'll see what the doctor has to say. When she came home she looked like a little bear cub because she needed a hair cut and a bath but we couldn't do anything because of the stitches on the back so the first few pictures she looks beary. Last Sunday 10/4 since she was doing better Kim trimmed her face a little bit so she would look like our CC and this week she got a bath to make her look, smell and feel a lot better.
The Wellness Center has a groomer who works with them and knows how to handle a back injury so I made an appointment for them to do her hair next Saturday. I'm enclosing some pictures of the ramps and her walking with her sling. Hope they come out ok. Will write you again Tuesday after we see what the doctor has to say.

More from our Fire Prevention Cockers.....

The one picture is Brinkley listening very intently to what his Daddy and big brother have to say about fire safety, he thinks also that he might like to be a future bell ringer. Brinkley's Daddy, Kevin Ernst, is the Fire Chief in Port Allegheny, PA. This is his vacation week from work and he spends his time promoting fire safety programs. We are very proud of him and his devotion to duty.

Thyme update.......Stitches out!!!

Thyme is doing great. Stitches are out and the incision has healed without any problems. When we returned home, she ran around in the grassy area in front of the house, back to and jumped into the Envoy and out again for another trip around the yard. I think the stitches pulled and she was afraid to move faster than a slow walk. Her attitude is wonderful as she is being held and spoiled. The great news is that we have had a family who asked for her immediately upon hearing of her sad ordeal. The Kohuts of NJ were on the wait list for one of her puppies and fell in love with Thyme herself. We will be meeting in the near future to see if they all like each other and Thyme and their boy Cocoa can be friends. This home is absolutely perfect, but Thyme is the one who will make the final decision. We plan for a play date with plenty of time for the two to get to know each other. Thyme is always shy at first when meeting anyone new. If the cocker angels sent the Kohuts to us, all will be perfect and the good-bye tears will flow.
