From Tucker's World..."What a day........."

Told by Bailey: So Bella, Tucker and I were out playing a game with Mom...
Tucker was teasing us as usual.....

All of a sudden we heard a big crash.......

The tree we had just chased a squirril up split and fell out into the street!

So we watched them pull it out of the street by sitting on the back of the sofa and barking "good job" at them for an hour.
Then we went out and inspected the site. Job well done!!
Tucker says to tell everyone he has been a good boy for 7 days! Mom bought us Frosty Paws to celebrate!

Bonnie's a big help with the corn.......

HI everyone! I promised a three year photo of me and I thought you'd also like to
see that I'm a working girl, too.
My Mema wanted Momma to get some corn so we can freeze some for
our winter meals. Mema used to do five bushels at a time back in the day.

Here Mema (will be 90 on September 30th this year) showed us how
to get every little silk out of the rows of corn.
As you can see, Mema loves to put up veggies. When Mary (my Gma) was young and living at home, she and sisters Carol and Becky (my momma) were assigned the tasks of shucking and cleaning, then cutting it off the cob. They also put up every thing possible that would fit in jars. Even the huge crocks were filled with stuffed banana peppers (cabbage mixture that makes our mouths water just to think about it) were covered in a salty/apple vinegar brine to "work" away before they were canned. At the end of the harvest season, we loved to look at all the beautiful rows of colorful foods just waiting for every one's dinner. Tomatoes, veggie soup, green beans, jellies and jams.......boy, those were the days, so I'm told.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and getting ready for the fall harvest.
Hope to hear from the rest of my siblings.
Bonnie

Violet's holiday weekend, so far......

Hi Everyone! Hope you having a fun filled holiday. This is how I started my day.
Mom wasn't feeling well, so I took responsibility to make her sit quietly and watch a
movie on Showtime. If she thinks I need a nap, she'll hold me for as long as I can stand it.
I'm doing a good job pretending I'm asleep.

After the movie, Mom felt better so we decided to clean out the fridge getting
ready for the garden produce Daddy was picking. She found some Speghettio's and
I helped clean the bowl.

As you can see, my job wasn't done. Next I had to help some of the ladies
take their after lunch naps. If they think they are helping me, it all works out
great.
Now it's late in the afternoon and I thought Mom should take another rest since she got all
the sweet corn off the cob and in the freezer. Basil and Holly kept stealing the ears
as Daddy put them in the basket. What a funny sight to see him run after them.
Camps are up and having fun with their picnics and 4 wheelers on the road.
We love to bark at them. We know the Firedogs and Abby are playing together
now at Abby's camp. I was supposed to join them, but ....... maybe next time.

A thought just shared with me by another cocker lover watching the blog and website....

Digging in the garden...

Digging like a mole...

Awful for the manicure...

Lovely for the soul.

Thanks Bernadette.....a lady who's rescued five cockers.
