JETT'S OUR ROSIE/WEYLIN BOY. WE LOVE THE BLACKS!

2009 Mushroom Hunt has begun.....

YESTERDAY PHILIP WAS HUNTING AND AND FOUND THESE FOUR BLACK MOREL MUSHROOMS. HE HAD TO STOP AND GO WITH ME TO THE VET FOR TEDDY BEAR'S FINAL SHOTS, PUPPY AND RABIES. ON THE WAY HOME, WE SAW TRUKEY CROSSING THE ROAD IN FRONT OF US. YEP, WHEN PHILIP GOT BACK TO HIS PATCH, THE GOUND HAD BEEN RACKED CLEAN. THE TURKEYS BEAT HIM TO IT. NOW WE'RE WATCHING FOR THE YELLOW MORELS THAT COME IN MAY. I WON'T BE CALLING HIM AWAY AGAIN! BETWEEN THE DEER AND THE TURKEY, WE HAVE A CONTEST GOING ON. THANK GOODNESS THEY LEAVE THE LEEKS ALONE.

Cocoa & Mickey....Teddy Bear's littermates

Look at us....we're nearly sixteen weeks old! Dad says we are learning our manners and are good kids. We love playing out side and rolling in the best smelling stuff. Mom doesn't like that and we get another bath. We wish everyone could come and have a play date with us.

Pansy watches over her kids in the play yard....

Jack, Penelope and Major played out all day today in the warm sunshine. They loved running and rolling each other. Then they noticed Mom sitting on the other side of the fence watching over them. What a lovely family.

Warm weather friends in the sunshine....

Ruby's home from Cornell and eye surgery....

Ruby had mature/complete cataracts in both eyes. Her left eye cataract came almost over night. The right one took four months. Because of the fast onset, her retina was almost completely detached. Ruby could not have surgery on that eye and is permanently blind. The good news is that her right eye is a big success and she saw everyone the moment she woke up. She is like a little puppy running around wanting to greet everyone. That's not possible so she must spend the next two weeks in a crate in our family room in the middle of all the activities, but not being bumped by the others. You can see by the face on photo that both eyes have that milk colored cataract. In the one after surgery, the right eye reflects light now. We are so happy for our sweet Ruby!

Our boy Cooper and his new sister Willow..Ohio

Cooper sent this picture showing us what a good big brother he is to his new sister. Willow came from Sunset Oaks Cockers and Lois & Ralph Lelli. Willow's father is Charlie (Grumble Rock Kennel & Connie Probst), the father of our CC's and Pansy's litters. Cooper is our Cherry & Weylin's son. I'm assured this pair is enjoying the good life and bringing much happiness and love to their family......what cockers are known for. A cocker would have made a wonderful and perfect pet for two famous little girls now living in Washington, DC!!!

CC's pups are two weeks old.....

Their eyes are open and they are starting to stand on their own. I think their combined weight is going to exceed their Mom's in another week. They are healthy eaters and so is CC....who prefers steak and chicken, eggs and cottage cheese and any pasta. Don't forget her bowl of ice cream! Individual photos of this litter can be seen on our web site. http://www.sbgcockersandquilts.com

Baseball Season Opens...Finn's Ready! Play Ball!!

I'm so excited that I had to share with the mob. You can tell that spring is finally here! Today is opening day of Baseball season!! I have my uniform on, but the team said I could not play because I would just run around the field with the ball in my mouth. They made me the official mascot though..tee..hee. I had my team physical today and Dr. Anne declared me the happiest & healthiest cocker on the team! Happy Easter to all!!! Love, Finn

Glamour Girl, now Coco....Gigi's daughter checks in...

Hi Everyone. I wanted you all to see my new brothers. Aren't they wonderful! I love my new home. I saw some of my litter mates here and wanted them to see me, too. My tan points are coming in nicely against my yummy chocolate colored coat. Everyone says I look delicious! Isn't that silly. We are wearing our new Easter collars. We wish everyone has a lovely and blessed Easter holiday. Be careful when you take a bite of something chocolate....it could be one of us! Tee hee........Coco

Sunday with Cocoa and Mickey

We will soon be 14 weeks old, seems like just yesterday we arrived here in New Bloomfield. One thing for sure, we are eating well. I am almost 12 pounds and my sister is 11. I finally quit my howling at night, although no one knows for sure what it was. I think I just woke up scared. Yesterday we went to that cute doctor Lisa. I don't care if she is cute or not, she stuck us each three times with something sharp and neither of us liked it and I told her so by howling in her office and would not look at her. My sister barked at her and ran to Mommy. I don't have to run because my Daddy always has me in his arms. When Daddy is home we get to explore outside everywhere, just like this morning we found this big green bouncy thing and ran all over it. Mommy sometimes is too careful with us, but we are enjoying out stay and it has been about three days and we have had no in house accidents! We go everywhere together and it seems everyone is always making a big fuss over us, even at Daddy's work. Love, Mickey and Cocoa
