Skates's introducing his new family.......

Marsha and Matty Dale above...with Kevin Ernst below.
Yep, it's the same people who came to visit last weekend. They brought Brinkley back for every one to see and play with...Jasper, too. Of course all us puppy boys had to strut our stuff, too. Well, I saw my new Momma Marsha and my heart leaped into hers. After a week of wishing they had taken me home with them, they decided that three boys are better than two
and the rest is history. My new name is "Matty Dale" a term/name for the connection on the fire hose to the truck. Now isn't that clever. I love it and my new family. Daddy Kevin is the Fire Chief in Port Alleghany, PA

No posts today.....

Trying to get some things done around the house. Also grooming pups for Saturday's visitors coming to choose a boy. One leaves tomorrow night and another one is being chosen from photos. This is always a bitter sweet time for me. Will post the outcome here and on the Good-bye pages on the web site.

Mister H returns to visit.......

We're here!!!
Kim grabbed a new puppy right away! Blizzard was the lucky boy.
Mister H was so happy to see everyone and Iris decided to watch over him.

Little Blizzard was so full of kisses, you'd think Mister H would be jealous.
No way, he gets more kisses than any puppy I know!
Well here Momma Kim is again with another puppy in her lap. Mister H
got a hair cut so you could see his big boy look. Skates decided it was his turn
to get some attention. Of course Kim was in cocker heaven and figuring out
how she could work more into their current life.

Look who came for a homemade chicken & noodle dinner......it's our Nanny Janice!
Of course she grabbed onto a puppy, too. Drifter is her favorite. He's such an old soul, we call him King of Plod!

Even Lloyd got in the act and held little Blizzard, shown here. Then he
changed with Janice and couldn't believe the boys were from the same litter.
They look alike, but what a difference in weight. Bliz is light and Drifter is
a overstuffed bunny rabbit.
The visit went by all too fast. " Come'on, Mom.
We're burning daylight. It's a 13 hour trip home.
I'm so tired after all this play, I plan to sleep the whole way home."
Iris & Basil help Philip say good-bye to Mister H & Kim. This is the famous escort dually
we're always hearing about!

Dove's boys were sad to see Mister H go. They think the life on the road as a trucker's boy
is one as full of adventure as sailing with Black Beard the Pirate!
Hurry back Mister H! We love you.
Note: Kim let me download her photo card. I did and gave it back. After she left, I searched and cannot find it anywhere in my files. So we'll post more photos later.

Two more photos of Penelope.....

Pansy is checking Penelope out for her trip home.
Penelope just home and playing on their porch.

(Note: watch the blog for great pictures of Mister H who is visiting SBG today.
We will be playing with the mob, walking in the woods and having a blast.
This should be another great day!)

Penelope popped in to say Hello.......

Penelope with Janell soon after arriving home last summer.
Penelop is looking like her Momma Pansy now that she's a year old.

Christmas found Penelope in her best dress to play with her friend.

You can see how much Bethany and Janell love playing with their sweet baby.
Momma Rose says Penelope is a very sweet girl and also very funny.
She is loved by them all. Thanks for sharing. We are so happy to see
our baby girl having fun and being loved.
Gma Mary & Gpa Philip
ps. thanks to Jack's Daddy Ted for helping get these photos to us.

A note from Thyme

Hi Mary,
Hope all is well with you. We are fine. Thymie Jane is great. Cocoa wants to tell you thanks a million for giving us this little doll baby! They really keep each other company. Also, we are so glad we picked Jane for her middle name, especially since it is a family name!!!
Ok, have a good week.
Love,
Cocoa and Thymie Jane

Brinkley's visit back to his first home.......

And now our story begins. I'm Brinkley, Sunny & Shooter's black & tan boy. This is my new brother Jasper. I've come back home to visit with Mom, Sunny and Daddy Weylin and my true brother Charlie. We found many nice benches on our walk in the woods and thought this
would be a great way to introduce ourselves.

We arrived to find Dove's seven cream boys and Daisy's red boy Reef on the upper
deck barking a welcome. This is the best Momma Marsha could do to get all eight in
the photo. We think this is the order of the lineup by collar color:
Flurry, Blizzard, Skates, Big Flake, Snowball, King Frost, Reef and Drifter.

Round back, the ladies were waiting...Ruby, Daisy, Iris, Cherry, CC, Lily, Maggy, Dove,
Birdie behind Pansy and Garnet

My Momma Sunny was in a chair all by herself and howling a warm "hello, son!"

So we told the mob we wanted to go find Gpa Basil and go for a walk in the gardens, orchard and woods. Then we'd be back for a visit. Daddy Kevin had a bag of treats for everyone.
Yummy!

We met with Grandpa Basil first to get the scoop on the latest woodsy gossip, bear
and deer report. He said the place is lousy with Turkey. He said to excuse his shaggy
looks, but he wanted to keep the wool until the ground warmed. It made napping
so much nicer. Seems that's what he likes to do best these days while watching
Philip work.
Gpa Basil showed us the best places to rest on our walk.

Sometimes we lost Gpa B because he was under something and
blended in perfectly. I like this trick.

There were a lot of benches for resting, but we liked the bushes best.
Next we went into the play yard to meet the mob and play with some of the
puppies. They were so much fun and weren't one bit afraid of us big guys.

Snowball played in the water dish.....made a muddy mess. You know what, he didn't
get in trouble because's he's Gma Mary's favorite! No, I didn't say that....

Now I'm meeting with Skates (green) and Snowball. Charlie was in Studville where he is recovering from his "duties" as studmuffin. He played with a fence between us. He will be groomed and have photos taken again so you can see he's a good looking boy like his brother,
ME!

Snowball, Reef and Skates played hard with me and I loved it!

These boys were off and running...... and wanted me to chase them.

Some of the ladies were just happy to watch all the youngsters play.

Drifter joined the group just to show how a laid back boy turns into a full time ragdoll/lapdog.
He is the king of plodding along from bed to lap to bed. What a funny boy! You'd never
see him running to put out a fire!

Daddy, Kevin loved all these sweet boys. They kissed and hugged him. Momma Marsha is taking the photos and didn't get in any of them. She loved Skates the best and was thinking hard about adding him to our family! Another firedog in the making? Always room for one more fire guy.

The sad Good-byes were given from those four who were left on the upper deck.

And the best surprise of all was this grouse putting on a show and we left
Stonebroke Gardens. What a great day. We're coming back soon.
Brinkley

What a fun day. The weather was beautiful, the orchard has begun to show it's splender and the spring tulips and daffodils were at their best. Jasper and Brinkley walked with Grandpa Basil up the hill and into the woods. What great and well trained boys. They stayed close and came when called. Marsha and Kevin have taken great care of their boys and love them dearly.
We have made wonderful friends with our cocker babies.
We are truly blessed.

Photo from Addy.......

Cuddling with a favorite........

Mazie...another Charlie sister checking in....

Hi Mary,
What a winter! We haven't had that much snow in one winter (6feet) for 40 years! Sure am glad spring is here now. Just thought I would send you some pictures of Mazie. She is fine and is the most energetic dog we've had! Little loony, too! She is such a joy to have with us and we love her dearly. The day after she was spayed in early December, she hit the floor running - never missed a beat. Hope everyone is well.
Take care, Fran Wright
(Mazie lives in VA. Sure appreciate Fran sharing. Wish we could repeat this breeding. All the puppies have turned out so very beautiful/handsome. Daddy Shooter was "tootered" after he sired this litter. Shooter is a love bug now and cherished by his owners
Angie and Scott...Nanny Janice's daughter.
Sunny, the Mom will be bred to our Weylin in May.)

Surpise in the mail today......

Look who sent us pictures! Lola, Charlie's sister! We hadn't heard from her in months and wondered how she was doing. Here she is with beautiful Alyssa. From the looks of it, they are best of friends and Lola can't give her enough kisses. We are blessed with the best cocker families and friends. Momma Stacy tell us Lola is a good girl and is loved by everyone. She will start her therapy dog training sometime in the near future. We can't wait to see how that goes. Cockers are known for being the best therapy dogs ever. Thanks for the update and photos. Charlie sends hugs and kisses to both of these lovely girls.

Daisy's home........

Our sweetheart is back from the vet. All went well and she is sleeping nicely after some delicious slices of roasted leg of lamb and a side of cottage cheese. Nanny Janice gave her a big green bunny to use as a pillow and friend while she's recovering. Cockers love stuffed animals and love to cuddle with them when a human isn't available. Dr. Saxton said she did well and commented once again how sweet and good she was, never a complaint. The mob greeted Daisy with a lot of jumping and howling. Hope she didn't have a head ache. Now all is well once again on our side of the mountain. Thanks for your good wishes.

Daisy's special day.......

Just back from dropping our Daisy off at the vet. Yesterday we groomed her, bathed her and sprayed "Spring Rain" freshener on her coat. She looked beautiful and was so proud as she pranced around showing off to the others. Now she's entered the best stage of her life. She is being spayed. After producing four beautiful litters, we decided that was more than enough. Now Daisy can enjoy the good life, watch over others babies or just play and nap as she will. She is in perfect health and will enjoy many many years of love and fun here with the family who cherishes and appreciates her.

Carol's Christmas Cactus

Wow....isn't it lovely! My sister Carol loved this plant. Her husband, Ken is so proud that he's kept it alive and her spirit as well. To receive this photo this morning was a gift and a sweet reminder of our lives together. I miss her.
