Dove's new litter....7 boys & 2 girls......

There are only eight here. I thought we were done. The ones that are darker are still wet.
They are all cream and maybe a silver or two! Dove is exhausted.
#9..a boy....is in the lower left corner just born. Girls are the pink and purple ribbons. One girl is reserved. Wait list will be notified tomorrow.
Dove is cleaning this just born boy.
Well, it's finally over......I'm hoping. There might be one more. You just never know. Dove did very well and did not suffer at all after the first big boy rolled out. We thought we were through after six boys and two girls, but out came number nine, another boy! All are resting and trying to nurse. Philip is watching over them while I put on this notice. Tomorrow after everyone is rested and well fed, I'll take individual photos and post them to the web site. Right now the above pictures are all I have. Dove is way too tired to pose and the wiggling puppies are so happy to be free.

The boys play while Dove works.......

Here's Bumble and Charlie having a grand time playing football with the gift the Wilhite girls and Tucker (Bumbie's brother) sent to the mob. Dove is rather annoyed by it all, but is doing her best to ignore them like every body else. She continues to work/nap/work/nap towards bringing her litter into the world today.

Dove: Saturday morning update

Noon:........progressing nicely. This time she will complete the assignment!
We hope to have all puppies safe and sound before this day is done.
*********
Morning: Dove is under the spiral steps to the loft. She spent all night there sleeping
peacefully, no stress at all.

Dove started out, shut her eyes and backed in again. Do you think she's practicing tobe the new Ground Hog on Feb 2nd?

You can see where Charlie decided to pull out the threads to the carpet
wrap around the pole. He also chewed on the steps and the gate.
When we are done keeping puppies and training them, we'll correct it all
What's funny is that Dove pulled the threads out of all the throw carpets
on the floors when she was a puppy.
We are watching Dove now for her serious labor to begin. It might seem to you that she is way overdue. We did not witness the first tie and were basing the due date from the first day she and Weylin were in puppy camp. They were there five days in a row. If the tie was at the end of that week, she is right on schedule. If Dove shows any stress or inability to present the litter, she will be rushed to the vet. He's ten minutes away and sticking around this weekend just in case. It's a waiting game for us. Next time I will only post the notice when a Momma is about to deliver. I'm sorry to have made anyone worry. All is good and Dove is still eating and getting all the attention she deserves. Thanks for watching and wishing her well.

Daisy's babies are 12 days old......

Look how we're growing! Our eyes are opening and we're trying to stand...well, not now. We're busy eating, again! Our two week photos will show us with our
peep eyes.

Today's activities............

While our little Dove is waiting out the labor/delivery of her coming litter, Poppa Weylin plays a little ball with grandson Charlie.
Daisy wanted to take a break from her 12 day old kids with a private nap under the rocker.Bumbie saw this as a great opportunity for a good snuggle.
Dove is taking her sweet ole time. Nothing serious is happening. She's finding dark places to nap away from the maddening crowds, but comes out when snacks are being handed out. I'm in for a very long night. We don't expect this
litter to be born today, but you never know.

Dove's finally in labor.......

8 am..... Dove is shaking like a leaf this morning, but is still in line for breakfast. We cut her portion in half and she ate only half of that......another good sign. The process of labor can take from 8 to 12 hours. So we're expecting the first puppy to appear sometime this evening, but could be earlier.
Daisy is waiting for her breakfast like a lady. Her puppies are trying to stand and have peep eyes now. Below is Lily having her special breakfast in bed with half the mob watching at the ready for clean up privileges. There are ten cockers in the photo. Iris is in the upper left corner instructing Bumbie in manners. He is watching her intently. And so our morning begins again.

Bumble Bee is available

This is my PHONE HOME photo shoot!!!

We just received word from our good friends in Canada that they have suffered a stunning and immediate life changing event and cannot accept Bumble into their home at this time. We extend to them our sincere prayers that the issue can be resolved to everyone benefit. Bumble is losing a very special home. Now we await the forever home this wonderfully sweet and loving boy deserves.
We are posting this notice because everyone was happily awaiting his new family's photos and to rejoice in his good fortune.

Gabby is doing wonderfully in her new home.

Hi everyone! I love my new home. I've been a good girl, learning to go out to potty, come when called and share with my new sister Carlee. My Mommy Anne is spoiling me with toys, good food and kisses. I miss my brothers and sisters, but am a very happy girl. Gabby

Daisy's litter is one week old. Above is their latest photos and the link to the
current page. Time is flying by once again. Since I've spent the entire week of 24 hour days with them, I can tell you first hand how sweet and healthy they are. Daisy is an amazing Momma and is recovering from her ordeal.
Note:
This blog is having a big problem with the lettering naming the puppies! I haven't a clue why it's printing out so crazy. On my screen where I'm recording the photos and script, it's perfect the way I want it to be. Then when I publish.......wonky words! Sorry!

Now we are awaiting Dove's litter. Dove is doing just fine so far.

Tucker's faithful Nanny, Bailey.......

We're told Baily won't leave his side. This girl is a chip off her Momma's block. CC is in charge of all our puppies long after their mothers have walked away. Seems like it's yet another wonderful characteristics passed from mother to daughter. Good girl, Bailey!

Attention Iron Chefs..........

Chef Breidenstein is preparing this morning's normal breakfast. He issues a challenge to prepare the special feast ordered to fit the needs and preference of a typical cocker mob. Some get cottage cheese/scrambled eggs, some get buffalo/venison, some get lamb & rice, some get hamburger & rice, some get it all.....all freshly made with guests under foot. How does he do it It's eat or be eaten mentality.......but mostly just pure love of the mob!

Daisy and her babies...

Poor little Daisy is finally resting. She was up and moving, cleaning and watching over her
babies until last night at 10.....then she passed out and didn't awaken until 4 this morning.
Me? I was watching her the entire time, counting her breaths and
making sure everything was good.
Notice that the Great Tail Robbery has once again ended with
the kids a little short on dew claws and tails. They don't seem
to mind! As long as the milk flows and Mom's there to serve it, I hear no complaints!
All puppies are available except for Pearl, now Samantha, who is the little purple ribboned girl in the middle. Seems the wait list didn't! Or at least they have not answered my litter announcements.

Bailey has proof she approves of her brother Tucker...

Confrontation and invitation to join me on the couch.Already he's kissing up to my Momma....
He won't let dear old Phoebe alone and she's tired of it.

"Now brother, dear....if you're wanting to get along in this house filled with women, you'd better listen to me an do exactly as I say. Sophie and Bella are out in the kitchen and will join us soon. Then you are in for a lesson or two on manners!" Bailey
Guess it was unfair to post only one side of the story below this one. Bailey (red & white daughter of our CC) has asked that we show the other pictures where she is greeting him warmly. He is wearing her out with all his activities. She sticks with him to make sure he is being treated right by the others in her mini mob. And she tells us she has taught him to be her back up when they run out to protect the family against that barking dog behind the fence! You Go Girl!

Tucker's (Buzzz) homecoming in Maryland.....

Here I am, sweet and innocent and ready to show my stuff. Phoebe is black like Momma Bee and I loved her immediately.

Isn't my new sister Bailey sweet?

Isn't it awful when the camera catches you in a private moment when you're expressing your true feelings? Guess I'll have to work hard to make Bailey really like me. Click on the photo for a closer look...tee hee. Tucker
Actually Bailey loves her new brother and is busy showing him all the fun things to do in her their home. They race around the house, race around the yard and just race after all the baskets of toys everywhere. There are many wonderful photos of Bailey playing with Tucker, but I just couldn't resist posting this one. Of course if you see it has suddenly been deleted, you'll know Miss Bailey was not amused!

Daisy & Weylin's new litter has arrived......

The first pup born with a red ribbon and is a clone of Weylin (left bright spot) is being presented to the waiting adults on the other side of the nursery half door. Grandpa Basil is in the back, next row is Dove, Holly & Sunny.....next is Bee & Weylin, next is Cherry and Charlie and front row is Garnet's eyeball! Daisy exhausted.

Girls have white/pink/purple ribbons.

They weighted from 6oz to 8oz....all perfectly healthy and very active.

It was a very long process whelping this litter. The first one, a lovely cream boy the image of his Pop Weylin, came at 6:50pm last night. By 10:25 we thought we were through. We had four boys and two girls. Daisy settled down and began to nurse/clean her new babies. This morning at 4:30 she was panting hard, so I turned off the heating pad thinking she was too hot. And again counted the puppies to be sure none were under her. Seven. I shut off the light and settled back down flashlight in hand. Brain dull.....but suddenly alive......seven? There were only six!!! I turned the light back on to find a wet little girl, no ribbon crying out for help. I dried her off, wrapped her in the little warming blanket and we cuddled for the next two hours giving Daisy time to rest. This morning all are healthy and active and very beautiful. It looks like we have some red/buffs in this litter....and are very surprised there are no chocolates. One beautiful solid black girl is the only color other than shades of buff. The formal individual photos will be taken and posted on the Newborn page of the web site....hopefully by this afternoon. Wait list will be shown these photos so they can make their choices. In the meantime, I've taken the above photos so you can see what Daisy is proudly presenting. When the Newborn page is complete, I'll post the link here so you can see for yourself what a lovely group of puppies this is. While I am working on the photos, Philip is watching over the new litter making sure everyone gets all they can eat and keeps warm so Daisy can take a well deserved nap. She's eaten four eggs, cottage cheese, my breakfast and some kibble. She will be getting her T-Bone celebration dinner at noon. Life is good at SBG!
If you're on the wait list and see a puppy from the above snaps and have decided, let me know. There's not a clinker in the bunch, as my Dad used to say about the five of us kids!

Today's the day-------

Update: 1:45 and she's "making her bed". That is a form of pushing the pups into the exit lane! Might be a few more hours before we see the first pup. Everyone boiling water?
Daisy woke me at 6:am panting as she slept on my lap. That's the first sign she's begun her labor. She is seeking dark corners under whatever to wait out this stage. We expect to begin delivering the puppies sometime this afternoon. With Daisy, we never know for sure as she doesn't show the normal behavior patterns. Looking at the photos above, every woman reading this who's been through labor can certainly identify with what she's feeling. The whelping room is ready and the basket is being warmed to receive the puppies. It's a time when all our other activities stop and full attention is paid to our Star Mommy of the Day.

Hershey's party hat....

This little chocolate & tan girl was from Daisy/Weylin's '08 litter. Do you think she's a little spoiled as per the fine print in her contract!!! What a beautiful girl.
