Lt. R Scott Hunter's promiotion day

What a proud day for the family. Scott has been with the PA State Police for over 21 years of hard dedicated work. Sam and Sarah were given the privilege of pining on his lieutenant's bars while his wife/my daughter Jane looked on. Janice and Lloyd Brooks came with us to witness the ceremony. Lloyd has served many loyal years with the PA State Police and is now retired. Everyone also shook his hand and complimented both of these amazing men on stellar careers of brave duty to the citizens of PA.
God Bless our Law Enforcement Personnel

Chessie's sister, Sneakers

.........passed in December and also enjoyed 15 years of love and devotion to Ann and lots of fun with her sister Chessie. And last is Carlee! Just turned 3 in May, still acts like a puppy. She had a ruptured disk about 1 year ago and became paralyzed. She needs to have her bladder expressed several times a day, and doesn't have any bowel control. But, you know, once you get in a routine with this, it becomes part of your daily life. She loves her wheels, and continues to run after squirrels and rabbits in the yard in addition to our walks. Thanks for posting photos of my cocker loves. Anne
And now you know why we have added Anne to our wait list for a future SBG buff female. Once in Anne's loving home, our baby will have the best of care and never want for anything.

Farewell to Chesapeake

This lovely angel passed over the Rainbow Bridge a week ago today. Her best friend (some would call her "owner") is so very shattered by her loss. She was a faithful and loyal companion for 15 years. We wish Chessie God Speed and Anne comfort from all of us who have felt her pain.

Brinkley's enjoying his new home........

First, his new brother has introduced him to the next door treat lady. Then Brinkley learned there is a never ending supply of toys from friends, visiting grandmas and Momma Marsha & Daddy Kevin. He is a welcomed visitor at the fire house, has gone on a call when it came on the way home and slept through it! We are told his favorite pass time is cuddling.....and you can see that for yourself as he is caught in the act on the couch with Mommy.

Too hot in Clark, NJ.......

..... for the pool or outside play. So Molly and Rusty are staying inside and enjoying the air conditioning.

Mickey and Cocoa love Virginia Beach

What a tiring week we had! We rode in the car all the way to Virgina Beach and we were told we were absolutely perfect traveling puppies. Once we got there though we were not too sure we wanted to stay. Every time we went outside we got burrs in our paws and coats, so had to be continually groomed and picked at. Cocoa didn't mind, but I did. They tell me I am a big baby, I think I just want to be left alone (not really).
Then we got to run through the sand, no burrs that time, and it was fun, until they tried to make us get in the water. The water wasn't bad, but the waves kept scaring us and making a lot of noise. Anyway, we still had fun, cause we got to go along and didn't have to stay someplace else. We are going back next year so we will be prepared. Daddy told me that he was leaving me there until next year, and then he would pick me up. I don't think he could last a day much less a year.
Love

Lola & Toby reporting in......

Hi Mary,

Just wanted to send a picture of my babies. Lola is such a blessing. We just love her so much. When I have a bad day at work she actually gives hugs. I also love to see her in the yard chasing the butterflies. It is the sweetest thing. She is growing so fast it is amazing and she just loves everyone.
Lola became the mascot for my daughters volleyball team. I was always bringing her to watch the games with me and she's funny when the ball goes out of bounds she thinks that she has to get it for them. LOL the poor thing doesn't realize that the ball is so much bigger than she is. The coach says that she needs to come back next year and wear a team shirt as well.
I love the picture of your mob as you call it when the direct tv man came. They all line up so nice. It makes you wonder what they're thinking.
Well you take care,
Stacy

Directv repairman was here..........

................the day before Otis left and Brinkley was still here. He needed freedom to get in and out the gates and back door. So the mob was jailed. As you can see, they are not happy campers and are actually insulted that they weren't allowed to be helpers
Thyme and Weylin are in a separate area called Studville, while the majority are locked away in the play yard next to the puppy yard.
Today all gates are open and everyone can come and go as
they wish. It's cool and sunny, a perfect fall day.....with summer
still on the calendar!!! Good Grief!

More photos from this afternoon & Brinkley's homecoming...

Brinkley loves his new home. Here he is with Jasper, his new brother. Marsha and Kevin say Brinkley has settled in and behaves as if this house has always been his home.
Can't ask for anything more!

Smith now Brinkley has left the homestead......

Smith, now Brinkley and Charlie taste tested Kevin's shoe strings before deciding Kevin and Marsha were the ones Smith had been hoping would find him. Kevin and Marsha have Jasper, a tri colored parti boy at home waiting to meet his new brother. We had a lovely visit and a walk in the gardens with the boys, Cherry, CC, Basil and Iris running along, too. We are now without any available puppies and miss them very much. We know Brinkley has found a loving forever home and wish them all a long and healthy life.

Sports, now "otis" and his new Mommy

What a bitter sweet day this has been. Our dear boy Sports who has been with us the longest from Dove's litter, met with his Momma today and it was love at first sight. He covered her face with kisses as if to say he never thought she would find him and he was oh so grateful that she did. Otis, as he is called now, will blend in well on a farm that raises Palomino show horses. We miss him already.

Qyooby & Quincy's summer

Dove & Weylin's boys are having the best summer. Deb taught them how to swim in their pool. Quincy is swimming fast back to the steps, climbs out, shakes off and wants to go again. Qyooby makes his way back to the steps while Quincy looks on while riding the raft. Honest to Pete, I'm coming back as one of my puppies!!
If you want to follow the boys on their blog,
here's the link.

Jack's having a fun summer.......

We've heard from Ted & Judy that our handsome boy Jack is enjoying his summer. He loves to ride on the pontoon boat and has been known to fall into the water, not on purpose, of course...and once in a while he'll fall off the dock, swim around happily, shake himself off and continues to be a happy boy. As it happens, Jack is in obedience training and well on his way to being the perfect student. However, he has one problem. Seems his tail wags continually if anyone looks at him or talks to him. Now how can that be a bad thing. More people need to show their joy by wagging their tails. Good boy, Jack......you rock!

Anybody got the key to this jail?

Rbie & Gracie are also one year old

We are so very proud of these two beautiful examples of the American Cocker Spaniel. Our Bee and Weylin are the parents. Their sister SusieQ was posted yesterday. You can see how spoiled and well cared for these kids are. Finding the right families is a full time job and one I take seriously. When I get back photos such as these, I know how lucky I am that these families found us. Rbie is solid black and Gracie is black & tan. There were so dark, I lightened them so we could see their sweet faces. Now they look rather chocolate....sorry.

Puppy yard activities

The rain stopped and the boys got to play outside. They were sitting so sweetly on the step I couldn't resist taking this shot. As I was reviewing it, Charlie decided to start jumping on Sports as sweetheart Smith held his pose. This rough house playing is being reenacted all over the country in every school playground and classroom! God Bless our teachers.

Iris, Birdie & Daisy.....

..........are so tired of the rain.

SusieQ's one year old!

Happy Birthday, SusieQ!
She's the daughter of Bee and Weylin.

Sports has visitors!!!

Linda and Donald were in the area and we met so they could see our boy. Their daughter Megan will be down one day this week to meet Sports and see if he's the one for her. Looks like the future grandparents approved!

We're home..........

Was a long tiresome trip, but worth the effort to arrive home safely to the welcoming chorus of our singing cocker mob. Whether we're gone eight minutes or eight days, they are always there happy to greet us with love. And people wonder why we do this......
Here's Mom holding a photo of her on graduation day. We hated to leave her and she was so sad to see us go. Being a stubborn Irish/German lady, she refuses to come here, so another trip to Indiana is in the works.

The garden ............

Philip and I are going to be gone for a week. Mom's house will be offered for sale and we must help with the prep. No new photos will be posted until we return on Monday the 17th. I will still be in contact through email (sbgcockerkids@aol.com) should anyone need help with their puppies. Sports is available and can be seen by appointment. Janice Brooks will be here with the cocker mob and they are thrilled as she spoils them rotten. Lloyd Brooks is a retired PA Statie and will be on the job to protect all. We are very lucky
to have such loving and caring friends.
