Meet Thyme's new family...George & Linda Kohut
Today was a tough one for us.......bitter/sweet for sure. We met with this wonderful family at Wendy's in Montoursville to see if Thyme would choose them and love them as much as they loved her just from her photos and stories.
Thyme looked them over pretty good, watched every car and dog in the area and stood her ground at our feet as we talked. Once I brought out the bag of toys and goodies that Thyme has chosen to take with her, she seemed to perk up. It was looking good to her now. George picked her up so I could get their photo and Thyme gave him lots of kisses. She reached over and gave one to Linda, too. As you can see by the photos above, George is holding his two girls with loving arms wrapped around them both. We are sure this is Thyme's forever home. Cocoa, a chocolate 8 year old male is waiting at home for his sister's arrival. Stay tuned for future photos and stories of them both. I'll be honest and say my trip home was a little shaky and full of flowing tears. This was an act of extreme love to find a special home for Thyme. I thank the Kohuts for wanting her and to all those who also wanted her but spoke up too late. I know this little girl will be loved beyond my imagination. The cocker angels have won again.

Pansy and Jack (her son) in the Wellsboro Park

Jack came back!
We met with Jack and his family Ted and Judy for a fun playtime in the Wellsboro park. Momma Pansy remembered her boy and Jack sure did know her, too! Pansy needed to remind him that he was a big boy now and wasn't welcomed to get so personal!
Ted and Judy took us to lunch in the Penn Wells Dinning room...Delicious!!! They even had tablecloths!
What a sweet and well mannerd boy Jack is. He is full of love and kisses as well. I'm told he is an excellent student in obedience school. Everyone loves his many colors and specially his brown boots!

Tomorrow we will post photos of Jack and Momma Pansy in the park. We have plans to meet again in the spring for more good food, conversation and play time.
Thanks for a lovely Day!

Hi Auntie Mary,
Momma Sharon showed me all your mob in their beds......I got me a new bed for when I turned into something called 2. I don't know what a 2 is, but I got me this new squessy bed....see, this is me and my new Binky toy, and blankets. I carry Binky with me every where I go, 'cept outside. Daddy Syd won't even let me take Binky outdoors, but then I got me a nice ball I take.
I love your mob, and howled at their picture...hee, hee.
I love you,
Bonny

Winchester, now Chester at home, September......
Chester felt like Cape Cod had always been his home. He settled right in, learned all the good places in the back yard and was taught good manners for living on the Cape. He has learned his lessons well and can now walk on the beaches without everyone fearing he will be lost at sea! We can thank Fran and Leonard for their patience and for taking the best care of this amazing brother of our Charlie. Of course, with older sister Lacey always around to remind Chester, he will remain faithful and true to their teachings. Below are more photos of Lacey, Chester and Fran having beach fun. Remember this is where they've spotted all those great white sharks! Yikes.

Thinking about getting a new Groomer?
Bailey (CC/Charlie daughter..on top) and her adopted sister, Bella (page back to Bella in her beautiful show coat flying through the air at an Agility meet) after returning from a grooming appointment. This new groomer assured their Momma that they knew how to groom a cocker and all would be good. Well.......you can see for yourself what Cathy found when she went to pick them up. Of course they are freezing, mortified that they are naked and Cathy is on her way to the store to buy sweaters. Talk about a bad hair day. Moral of this story: Take a picture of the cut you want. Never assume anyone new knows what a cocker cut looks like. I've seen some do a springer cut and leave feathers on the legs and tail.....but skinned down like a hound dog.....not acceptable unless you want a cool summer cut....AND ASK FOR IT! Anyway, we think Bailey and Bella are beauties no matter. And it's just hair......it'll grow back soon enough. Big sigh .We love you pretty ladies!
It's that time again......

Good Morning from Grandpa Basil
"Here I sit wondering where all that lovely snow went. It's rather confusing for us old guys to one day have the sun beating down warming our bones and the next thing you know, we wake up from a nap in the bushes to find we're covered in a blanket of cold snow! Since the fire has been lit inside the house, I find myself drawn to it's warmth more and more. Why is it that my Philip will sit in a tree for hours freezing while I'm inside dozing happily without a care in the world. Humans are hard to figure."

The look of autumn around us........
Does someone need coffee?Philip and his son Butch head for the woods on opening day two years ago.
Butch has been very busy working this fall so hasn't come up yet for
his hunt. We're hoping he comes soon as the buck are on the move.
Philip spotted a six point this morning under the tree stand
where Butch normally sits! The doe are here all the time.
We don't harvest doe and choose to wait for that nice buck.
"Keep the doe and the buck will come!"
